If there was anything that came to the heir’s mind when it came on hunting with Elizabeth was concern. His sister was great, had more abilities than he could ever have on fencing, and Edward was perfectly aware of her strength. Yet, she was just a little girl – frail, in a way. He didn’t want her to risk falling off the thoroughbred, or having her to get attacked by a crazy deer or fox. The male has seen many, many odd, terrible and unfortunate things happening on hunting. People getting shot by stray bullets, horses breaking their legs, hunting dogs getting bitten by larger animals, people running out of food and the list went on. It was too dangerous for her to go.
Though on a way or another, the boy simply didn’t know how to refuse anything Elizabeth suggested or requested of him (except marriage), so he ended up agreeing on it even though he was deeply concerned on her well-being. Their mother seemed to be extremely supportive on the matter, what didn’t contribute much to Edward’s campaign of not letting her do such an unsafe thing.
Since it was no use at the given point, he decided to go with it and pack whatever he thought that was needed to keep Elizabeth’s well-being. A first aid kit was more than needed. He also took her a bulletproof vest that had recently been developed (he hoped that the thing worked), some literature for her to read while they weren’t hunting, some extra boots in case hers got dirty along with some other things. Since they were going to do this, they might as well do it well, and go prepared. As for himself, he was just bringing the clothes of his body, a sword, a couple of revolvers and extra bullets. She was way more important than him. Most of his bag was filled with things for the girl, after all.
“Come in, I’m just finishing putting a shirt on –.” Was she ready already? Looking forward to it, for all that it seemed. Way more anxious than him. Though he would enjoy, spending some quality time with her, no matter the activity. “Ok, we can go now. Are you sure you’re bringing everything you need?” If she is not, Edward already is doing her the favour. No point on trying to slow things down anymore, so why was he still trying? After all, it would better if they did this while there was still enough light for them to see. Oh, he was suffering from his concern already, an it hadn’t even started! It would have been much more delightful if his sister had decided to play something less dangerous like golf. Hopefully she wouldn’t see how worried towards her he felt, or it could ruin the mood.
