The sound of glass shattering against the floor alerted her, making her move her hands from her face and momentarily silence her sobs. It sounded relatively close, like the kitchen. You don’t think…
“Edward!” She yelled, running to the doorway only to see a broken beer bottle on the ground, and her brother with the tip of it still in his hand. Quickly she dashed to him, resisting the urge to slap the living shit out of him, if he really did what she thinks he did. Quickly she glanced at his chest, emerald orbs widening in panic as she saw the scarlet liquid seep through his shirt, and she quickly ran to grab cloth and paper towels.
“You bloody moron!” She sobbed, tears blurring her vision as she quickly grabbed the ducktape from the drawer and stood in front of him. “Take your shirt off, I need to see how badly you just hurt yourself!” She was in a panic, and cursed herself making mother go out to buy her that new dress that was on sale while Lizzy practiced. She was an idiot—a stupid fool. She had only seen documentaries, only read a few facts online, but she never really knew how to deal with this. “Edward, oh my god.” She would stop, stop seeing Ciel. She wouldn’t talk to him, she really wouldn’t, if it meant her brother would quit acting so stupidly.. Elizabeth just wanted her brother to stop.
“Why are you crying even though I’m the one who – ?” Oh, now he felt ashamed of himself. He also felt a stinging pain in the chest, though that was just a detail. Had he done that to make her mad? Maybe, because he did feel very mad. But he didn’t expect her to cry. Oh, please don’t cry, Lizzy. Even though I’m all hurt like this, to see you cry, it just makes me feel a hundred times worse.
After letting out a sigh, he decided not to take his shirt of. He felt the injuries had been severe and that a lot of glass had gotten under his skin just because of that angry outburst, and there was no reason to worry her more. It felt so sick, so stupid, that he had done something like that. Not once in his life he wished to see her crying.
“Just forget it. I’ll take a shower and come clean up this mess before the maid sees it. It’s all under control.” Things felt very out of the control to him, but he needed to keep calm and try to relax, not to stress the girl out even more. He also wanted to stay away from her for the moment, as he couldn’t stand the vision of her being sad.
