Paula, call mother. It seems Edward has gone mad. The lady teased, well, sort of.

So, let me get this straight. A digit rose to her chin, poking it in mock thought. You want me to wear a fake piece of facial hair, A light touch of her upper lip, then a wince. You want me to change my name to Vanessa, A roll of her eyes. It wasn’t like she disliked the name, she just liked hers. And you would like me to live in hiding for the rest of my life, with a different accent? And she finished it with another sigh.

I love Ciel, wholeheartedly. Nothing you do, or say, or think, can ever change that. I apologize, brother, but I decline. And please don’t do it by yourself, either. It would be troublesome.

Oh, and one more question. Where would you even find the funds to pull such a stunt, if I may ask?

image

“…Yes, that is exactly it.”

She almost made it sound like a bad idea, as brilliant as it was. The poor girl was probably bewitched by that weird thing called love, but he, who he deemed to be capable of thinking clearly, just knew this was a bad idea. Ciel wasn’t going to give her the attention she needed! Bloody hell, the guy didn’t even visit her! So why, why did she love him? Wasn’t it just because she had been engaged to the boy since an early age and their mother had done a brainwash?

I would get the money, not even if I had to sell lemonade at the streets!”

Oh, dear sister, your refusal really hurts him. Very occasionally, Edward threw himself at the floor, really disappointed that Plan A had failed.“I won’t forgive them, Lizzy! For making you think such foolish things!” Them being his mother and Ciel, of course. The thing he had been thinking over for a month, declined in five seconds.

A sigh, then a shake of her blonde ringlets. Pardon me for saying this, dear brother, but there are already flaws in your plan. First of all, I love Ciel, and I am going to marry him. Second, you make a mistake of underestimating our mother. Even if we hide in the depths of the underground, she would find us and have our heads.

What brought upon this, She felt as if calling it ‘silly’ would stomp on his heart. So, Odd proposal? That’s not any better, Lizzy.

“But Lizzy, you only believe you love him because that was imposed to you! You have to be free!” Ciel could be responsible and all, but he wasn’t any good for Edward’s little innocent sister. Apparently, the blond had taken some deep thought into his wicked plan and already had solutions.

“Oh, but she won’t! We can wear fake mustaches, and I’ll change my name to Elliot and you can change yours to Vanessa or something of sorts. There will be no way she will find us! I’ve been practicing the accent too.”

image

“Just realizing that my precious sister won’t have a good life marrying motivated me enough! I have other ideas, if you want to hear those, even though this one is so good I don’t think it’s necessary.”

“Normal..?”

Of course he wasn’t normal. Only Ciel knew the true reasoning behind that fact. A truth that he wouldn’t reveal, not to Edward, not to anyone. The earl knew that Edward was not stupid, so his inquiries were unsurprising. It had taken a bit of training to smooth the demon into the immaculate servant he was today, but his capabilities primarily relied on the fact that he was a supernatural being. He was flawless in nearly every aspect— it was only natural for questions to arise.

“I don’t know where he hails from,” he replied. He wasn’t really lying. All he knew about Sebastian was that he originated from Hell. ”He approached me and offered his services to me. Back then.. anyone was fine. So, I accepted.”

image

“It’s kind of irresponsible of you, Ciel, not to question this kind of stuff… There is just something really odd with Butler, I can feel it at times.”

Some supernatural aura, he dared to think. There were a lot of things that were incredibly wrong. At the time, he had been too scared to think about them properly, though the thoughts came at his mind some weeks after.

“How could he even infiltrate at Weston at first place? Surely he is not a real teacher.” This wasn’t supposed to have happened, at a prestigious school like that. Things were supposed to be from the best. Though his cousin’s butler, he certainly pulled it out well. Truth to be told, he hadn’t even noticed that Butler wasn’t a teacher until he was told so.

Had Edward figured him out? The notion amused him.

The subject of his cousin’s query had quite a wide range of possibilities. Truth be told, many had questions regarding Sebastian, and many of them he was unable to answer truthfully. Even he had questions about the demon. But he stopped caring long ago. As long as he dutifully remained by his side, until the end… nothing else mattered.

“Go on with it, then.”

image

“It’s just that he isn’t quite normal, is he? No offense.”

All truth, he is really unsure on what this conversation will even lead him to. But his curiosity has spoken – hopefully it wouldn’t kill him. “I mean, he is faster than usual people. Where is he from?” Not to mention the competency of the raven was almost scary – and that is because Edward hadn’t bothered to take notice into half of the exploits of Sebastian Michaelis.

He isn’t all sure on how to put this, but it has been bothering him for years. Since Ciel came back after the Phantomhive manor had been burned to ashes, things just got way too distant. His cousin was a very responsible guy, and probably very busy too, working for his own company and the queen. Yet, family was important, right? The boy never visited, sent letters, not even to his only family. Elizabeth, she just devoted her whole to him, and yet, nothing. The blond stared at the other, thoughtfully. There are many questions and suggestions at his head, yet, none he can put in words nicely.

Of course! A large smile took over her lips, head tilted slightly in anticipation. Is there something wrong? Perhaps her brother needed advice? Or maybe he wanted to fence? Hmm.

image

“It’s just that…” Eh, how should he put this? So many times he had tried, and never got successful. “I really think you shouldn’t marry – I know it seems important to you right now, but it’s no good.” And then he would start with his proposals. “So, maybe we should go to Ireland or somewhere else, where mom won’t find us and can’t force you to.”

“Hey, Lizzy, can we talk – ? There is something that has been on my mind for a while… I’d like you to listen.”

Whether she would take him seriously with his nutty ideas he was about to tell her was an entirely different story, though nobody can blame him for trying.

“Ciel… There is something I’ve meaning to ask you. About your butler.”

He might not be the best at figuring things out, and hardly notices people as his mind is usually on somebody else, though the heir wasn’t a complete idiot at the point of not taking notice at some unusual abilities at the incident with the school director.

“Lizzy is not here, if it is for her that you’re looking for.” Oh, maybe she was there, but Edward wasn’t telling the Earl. No way on Earth he wanted his cousin to touch his precious either way.
